What is Meridia ®? Generic Name: sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate Action: Appetite suppressant through Side Effects : Headaches. Can cause nervousness, dizziness, dry mouth, and agitation. Can cause elevated blood pressure. Can develop tolerance to this medication. This would mean a person would need to take more to achieve the same appetite suppression, but would also mean continued chance for elevated blood pressure.
