Generic Name: orlistat

Action:  Enzyme inhibitor.  Inhibits absorption of fats in the intestines

Side Effects :  Increased intestinal gas.  Diarrhea, loose stool, cramping.

Drug Interactions : Can bind other medications so they are not absorbed. 

Pregnancy : No established studies. Not recognized as safe in pregnancy.
